Maria, Arci Muñoz, Janella Salvador at Francine Diaz.

“And I really had a happy experience participating the program Kumusta. As you watch the teaser, it’s gonna be a warm and healing program.

“As all the members of Kumusta try their best, we would like to ask for your interest and support for the program,” ang chika ng Korean star sa wikang Korean na tina-translate ng kanyang interpreter sa English.

“Actually, I was just a guest of this program, but I would like to appreciate  your warm welcome and warm invitation to this program.

Pangungunahan nga ang kusina ng sikat at tinitingalang culinary figure – Chef JP Anglo, a former MasterChef Philippines judge whose presence in the kitchen serves as an anchor for Kumusta’s culinary direction, bridging Philippine heritage with Seoul’s discerning food scene.

At palalakasin pa ang series sa cross-cultural lineup with guest appearances from South Korean celebrities na sina Kim Min-seok, Kim Myung-soo, and Seo In-guk.

Ipakikita rito kung anong mangyayari kung ang mga tao na mula sa magkaibang kultura at nag-bond over food, and how the show quietly shows how food can bring people together.

“Kumusta is a fresh take on Philippine television,” ang sabi ni Jack Hyunsoo Noh, E&S Partners CEO.

“It brings together Korean and Filipino stars in a way that feels natural. Through food, travel, and shared experiences. At the center of it all is Filipino cuisine, and we’re excited to introduce it to a wider audience.

“Imagine non-chefs or non-cooks opening a restaurant and cooking Filipino food? So the stakes were very high. So I guess, on the contrary, them crying on the side, you would never see; I would never see it,” sabi naman ni Chef JP.

“Like they were troopers. They embraced their roles as they would embrace their characters when they act. And it was actually pretty impressive to watch as someone that works in the kitchen and to work with people that have no experience. That’s why I think, like Jodi said, the heart was really there.

“As a chef, doing everything because, of course, I was kind of like somehow the more senior in the kitchen, it was really a full circle for me because that’s how I started. I started very slow in the kitchen. I was not a good chef at all. And then I was able to kinda reset my ways as a young cook.

“So on the third day, fourth day, I was excited actually to go to work or to go to the kitchen because I got my groove back.

“And to answer the last question, yes, I think it’s possible because, as Jodi was saying, our food was able to cross over to the Korean market. Janella and I would always pitch ourselves in the kitchen when we would watch them eat and enjoy.

“And it was a pretty cool moment for Filipino food. And yeah, that’s the feeling that I don’t think, kumbaga, Filipino food will go up. So I think that was just the beginning,” sabi pa ng celebrity chef.
