Hollywood action icon Chuck Norris pumanaw na sa edad 86

TULUYAN nang sumakabilang-buhay ang kilalang action movie star at martial artist na si Chuck Norris sa edad na 86.

Ito ay kinumpirma mismo ng kanyang pamilya nitong Biyernes, March 20, sa isang Instagram post.

“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning,” pahayag ng pamilya.

Caption pa, “To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family.”

Humiling din ng privacy ang pamilya at hindi pa ibinunyag ang detalye ng kanyang pagpanaw. 

Anila, “Please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.”

Ayon sa ulat ng US media at INQUIRER, naospital umano si Chuck sa isla ng Kauai ilang araw matapos niyang ipagdiwang ang ika-86th birthday.

Nagsimula ang karera ni Chuck sa pag-arte matapos ang maliit na papel sa pelikulang “The Wrecking Crew” noong 1968. 

Ngunit lalo siyang sumikat matapos ang kanyang makasaysayang laban kay Bruce Lee sa pelikulang “The Way of the Dragon.”

Bilang si Carlos Ray Norris, nadiskubre niya ang hilig sa martial arts habang nagsisilbi sa US Air Force sa South Korea. 

Doon niya natutunan ang tang soo do, isang Korean martial art na kahalintulad ng karate.

Pagbalik niya sa Amerika, nagtayo siya ng martial arts studio sa Los Angeles at naging guro ng ilang sikat na personalidad tulad nina Steve McQueen, Priscilla Presley, at Donny Osmond.

Sunod-sunod ang kanyang naging proyekto sa pelikula tulad ng “Good Guys Wear Black” at “Silent Rage.” 

Noong 1983, ginampanan niya ang papel sa “Lone Wolf McQuade,” na naging inspirasyon ng hit TV series na “Walker, Texas Ranger.”
