Curlee Discaya na-ospital habang nasa kustodiya ng Senado, anyare?

DINALA sa ospital ang controversial government contractor na si Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya mula sa Senate detention.

Ito ay ayon mismo sa kanyang abodago na si Cornelio Samaniego III.

“He’s been feeling a lot of things during his seven months in Senate detention,” sey sa isang text message na ipinadala ni Samaniego sa INQUIRER.

Ayon naman kay Senate President Tito Sotto III: “I was told it was an MRI [Magnetic Resonance Imaging] for a frozen shoulder that was in pain. He was in and out [of the hospital].”

Kinumpirma rin ni Sotto na ibinalik na sa Senate custody si Discaya pagkatapos ng medikal na pagsusuri.

Nasa Senate detention si Discaya mula noong September 2025 matapos siyang ma-cite in contempt.

Sa isang Senate blue committee hearing tungkol sa umano’y anomalous flood control projects na kinasasangkutan ni Discaya, sinabi niya na wala ang kanyang asawa na si Sarah Discaya dahil sa health issues.

Subalit, nagpadala si Sarah ng excuse letter na nagsasabing may employee meeting siya kaya hindi nakadalo.

Naaresto si Sarah at dinala sa Lapu-Lapu City Jail noong December 2025 matapos ang warrant mula sa Regional Trial Court ng parehong lungsod.

Noong Janaury 2026, nag-plead siya ng not guilty sa graft at malversation charges kaugnay ng umano’y P96.5-million flood control project sa Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental, na sinasabing fully paid pero hindi naipatayo.

Batay sa tala ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), ang mga construction firm ng Discaya ay naka-secure ng higit P207 billion na government contracts sa buong bansa.
