In January 2021, fan-favorite PBB couple Lou Yanong and Andre Brouillette announced that they have decided to split. In an Instagram post, Andre wrote, "The truth is we care for each other and always will. She is such a big part of my life, and I am ultimately so thankful to God to have her in my life."
Lou opened up about the breakup in a segment called "Spell or Spill" on Magandang Buhay. The instructions are: Hosts Karla Estrada, Jolina Magdangal, and Melai Cantiveros give their guests the choice to spell a word or answer a personal question. Lou decied to "spill" when asked if she had any regrets about the breakup.
"Parang wala po. I guess, sa timing, parang...kailangan talaga just to get to know ourselves more and grow apart, sadly. We don't know what the future holds. Yung pinaka-main reason po talaga is distance. Lagi ko naman pong sinasabi dito na sobrang malabing kami sa isa't isa. Kung wala yung factor na 'yon, sobrang hirap po."
She added, "But I still care about him, and I'm sure, kahit hindi ko siya nagkakausap ngayon, he still cares about me."
Jolina asked whether Lou regretted anything about their relationship, to which Lou replied, "Wala po. Sobrang ganda nung...para sa'kin, lalo na sa PBB, once in a lifetime mo lang masasabi na may nakita ka doon. Feeling ko, nabigay na namin yung purpose namin sa isa't isa. Marami na kaming natutunan kasi some purpose naman po, hindi pang-lifetime."
Lou shared that they tried to make it work long-distance, but it was really hard. She also insisted that it wasn't about having trust issues.
