Pinays Share The ~*Worst*~ Movies They Watched This Year
While we love being entertained, there are just some movies (and TV series) that sometimes fail to ~fulfill their purpose~. We asked members of the Cosmo Community to tell us about the most disappointing movie they had the bad luck of watching this year...and they delivered! Some of these super honest comments are pretty harsh, so friendly reminder: at the end of the day, to each his own. *wink wink*
1. Mulan
"I really tried to give it a chance despite the already negative reviews...but it was so bad. The movie did not have heart."—Andrea

2. Charlie's Angels
"Parang pilit na pilit lahat. I wanted to like it pero hindi talaga...Saka parang kulang na kulang ako sa plot. ''Yon na 'yon?' And another thing, for me it became a typical 'boys versus girls' movie, unlike the one with Cameron, Lucy, and Drew where they also had female antagonists."—Klariz
"It felt like it set feminism back. Or is it good for feminism that women can now make big-budget mediocre movies now, too? It's like they had a list of feminist buzz words they had to pinball through." —Jasper

3. The Holidate
"I can suspend my disbelief for good rom-coms but [this movie] required me to suspend brain function."—Portia

4. Midsommar
"I literally cried after watching it kasi minsan na nga lang kami magkita ng boyfriend ko, nasayang pa oras namin sa movie...Maganda yung cinematography and may potential sana yung plot but it's a no for me."—Ericka

5. MILF
"It's a French movie on Netflix about women in their 40s who get involved with three young men and [it was] just...so full of irony and predictable. Like, the usual na how a huge age gap is perceived as scandalous. Although it addresses stereotypical female problems in movies, parang all of them had to have some sort of enlightenment through the boys."—Marvelle

6. #Jowable
"I had high expectations when I saw it on Netflix's Top 10 here in the PH, but all of that went down the drain in the first 10 minutes when the main lead just ranted on and on and on. The editing was also abysmal, and it played into harmful stereotypes. It's not even a 'so bad it's good' movie."—Ela

7. Rebecca
"The Rebecca reboot was a letdown. Such GOOD tension building, only to get to that contrived, fake-happy ending."—Chandra

8. Hayop Ka
"Super ganda ng graphics but the story is soooo demoralizing. Parang gusto mo maligo after watching. [It] made fun of women and [was] still very much about the patriarchy in the PH. I'm so disappointed in both the story and the actors that actually agreed to [be in it]."—Jam

9. The Last Airbender
"I rewatched it as a joke but couldn't get past the first five minutes. I should've stopped the moment they said 'ovotar.'"—Cassandra

10. 365 days
"Jusko."—Pam
