Janine Gutierrez Says She 'Never Tweeted' About Calling Bongbong Marcos 'Baskil,' 'Dugyot'

Apparently, there's a tweet going around where Janine Gutierrez called 2022 presidential hopeful Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. (aka BBM) "baskil" and "dugyot." The full tweet goes as such: "Yuck. Baskil. Maraming ninakaw sa bayan pero dugyot."

On October 15, Twitter user @LolaBashangMsgs posted about it and asked for proof of Janine's alleged tweet and even tagged the 32-year-old ABS-CBN actress as well: "Anyone na magpapakita sakin na nagtweet talaga ng ganito si Janine? Husayan nyo. [fire emoji] @janinegutierrez"

The tweet didn't go unnoticed by Janine 'cause a day after, October 16, Janine addressed the tweet, called it "fake," and denied ever posting it. "Hey everyone! This is fake. I never tweeted this. Kung kilala niyo ako, hindi ko naman talaga katunog ito," she started.

She went on to tell her followers not to belittle politicians' outer appearances but to focus on facts: "Hindi tayo mababaw. Hindi importante ang itsura o panlabas na anyo ng isang politiko. Dun tayo sa facts lang, lalo na ngayong eleksyon. Mag-iingat sa fake news, guys!"

Janine isn't the first celebrity who's a victim of fake news relating to the 2022 national elections. Just last week, Liza Soberano was informed by a follower that a TikTok post of her allegedly supporting BBM was going viral on the platform. "Hi Ms. @lizasoberano, please check and be aware of this one poginagamit po nila yung photos mo and pinapakalat nila na you are a supporter of BBM," the netizen said.

"Thank you for informing me," Liza replied. "Beware of false information, everybody!"
