Jake Ejercito fired back at a netizen who responded negatively to the actor's post as he brought Ellie Eigenmann to the airport as she flew back to Siargao on September 24.

In late August, Ellie left Siargao for Manila to be with her dad. Andi Eigenmann, who's co-parenting Ellie with Jake, wrote a lengthy post where she said that a part of her feels missing when her eldest isn’t around.

One netizen responded negatively to Jake's post, claiming that parents must consider their children before separating. The commented reads, "This is the big lesson [for] both parents before separating their lives. We must consider our children first. Kaya ayaw ko mag-asawa, e."

Jake responded to the comment and said that people should not overgeneralize. He said, "Not everyone has it easy, and forcing something that will never be will just be worse and even more traumatic for children. These are the cards we were dealt with and we try our best to make it work with Ellie’s well-being as top priority."

In an interview in May, Jake admitted that the co-parenting set-up wasn't easy for Ellie. The actor said, "Andi and I, yung relationship naman namin when it comes to co-parenting, hindi naman naging smooth lagi and hindi naman siya smooth ever since. Marami kaming pinagdaanan na phases, siyempre before, immatutre pa kami and everything.”

The actor added, "Nakikita ko lang sa kaniya (Ellie) dati may times na kapag magulo, siyempre nakikita ko kay Ellie na nahihirapan din siya."

Despite the challenging situation, Jake said that they've found a proper balance to ensure Ellie's happiness. The actor said, "What's good about now is parang kasi ang priority namin is 'yong what's good for Ellie. 'Yon ang motivation namin, si Ellie."
