Here's Frankie Pangilinan's Response To A Netizen Who Criticized Her Eyes: 'Mahal ko ang mga mata ko'

This is your daily reminder that shaming anyone for their looks is never okay. Most, if not all, women have experienced a rude comment or backhanded compliment that's laced with body-shaming, and it hasn't gotten better with the internet. And Frankie Pangilinan is no exception. Recently, she received a comment from a random Instagram user who criticized her eyes. They wrote, "Honest lang, maganda ka sana. Tabunan lang yong mata perfect na."

The 20-year-old influencer and musician aired her feelings in a series of Twitter posts. Sharing a screenshot of the comment in her first tweet, Frankie wrote, "Honestly lang, in what world is it okay to say this to anyone?"

She then went on to say that she may be used to receiving these kinds of statements about her but stressed how damaging it is to one's self-esteem, particularly for young girls: "Sanay na po ako. I can laugh these things off really easily, but there's something so upsetting about thinking there are little girls who've never been insecure of themselves and could read comments like this only to look in the mirror and see flaws they've never seen before."

"Nakakapagod na po," she continued. "Minsan pa nga nakakasira ng araw o buong linggo. Hindi opinyon ang pagmumukha." Frankie closed off her message by saying how much she loves her eyes which was passed down from generation to generation on her father's side. "Mahal ko ang mga mata ko dahil namana ko mata ng tatay ko, na namana niya sa nanay niya, na namana ni lola sa lola kong Haponesa. Gwapa mga lola ko kaya alam ko gwapa din ako hehe"

These past few years, Frankie has been using her social media, specifically her Twitter account, to educate her followers about various societal and political issues. And for this, we can only say, WE STAN.
