This Is What Bettinna Carlos *Loves* About Their Humble Home In La Union
It's been a few of months since Bettinna Carlos left Manila for La Union, and if you can recall, it wasn't exactly an easy transition. She shared, "It was an unexpected almost abrupt move. Almost Exodus-like when we go back to that time we decided to pack up and leave. It was also uncomfortable and challenging the first weeks—beyond the geographical and physical move, there were emotional aspects to it too."
But it looks like they are settling in quite well, and fans finally get a tour of their humble home. In a video posted on their YouTube channel, Bettinna took us inside Balay Eduardo, their temporary home while their house is being built. She said that she initially struggled with letting go of the ~aesthetic~ she was used to, as someone who lived in a condo in Manila. "When we first moved here, ang dami kong gustong gawin. Gusto kong pinturahan yung cabinet ng puti, as in to really transform the space...and that's when God revealed to me, may pagka-materialistic pala ako, in the sense na gusto ko lahat maganda sa paningin ko." Later, she realized that "it's the people, and not the place, that makes a house a home."
Balay Eduardo is, luckily, really near their future home: "Malawak siya. It's really the space that we need. So maluwag siya in the sense na, kahit yung bedrooms, tulugan lang talaga. The common space, the dining area, the living room na bakante, 'yun yung parang 'dump site' namin...Tanggap ko na na hindi lahat ng gamit maibabalik kung saan sila nararapat."
"For me, favorite ko yung garahe sa harap kasi maluwag." They have a hammock there, which Bettinna bought for only P350! This is also where they enjoy their meals and entertain their guests!
The garage even has enough space for an inflatable pool!
"In this house, ang bedroom, dapat talaga pahingahan lang. Walang TV. Para yung common space, it's really for us to be together. Although wala kaming sofa, we hang out most of the time sa table sa labas kasi mahangin. I like na malaki yung common area kasi maluwag for the dogs to play; for Gummy and Mikki, 'pag naghaharutan sila."
