Did You Know KITTYCHICHA Once Starred In A Variety Show With Your Fave K-Pop Idols?
The Thai series Girl From Nowhere has been such a hit on Netflix. Since Season 2 came out, the show is constantly on the Top 10 most watched content on the streaming platform. The show is headlined by Thai actress Kitty Chicha Amatayakul, who plays the main character Nanno.
While Nanno is a complex character that's not exactly of the ~tweetums~ kind, KITTYCHICHA made everyone fall for her charms both on-screen and off. If you consider yourself a fan, it's highly likely you've already hit the follow button on her Instagram.
But if you still want more KITTYCHICHA content outside of her role in the Netflix hit series, then you'll be pleased to know that she actually appeared on a variety show, and with no less than your favorite K-pop idols as co-stars.
In 2019, KITTYCHICHA starred in a Thai travel and cooking competition show called Food Truck Battle along with fellow Thai star James Teeradon Supapunpinyo (fun fact: He had a mini reunion with Kitty in 2021 when he appeared in Girl From Nowhere Season 2 as Nanai!), K-pop idols Ha:tfelt aka Yeeun from Wonder Girls, and Nam Tae Hyun, a K-pop soloist who is formerly part of the boy group WINNER. The show is hosted by Thai K-pop idol Ten who is a member of the groups NCT, WayV, and SuperM. Ten also acted as a translator for both the Thai and South Korean cast members.

On the show, the cast members were divided into two groups, with James and Ha:tfelt in Team Red and Kitty and Tae Hyun in Team Blue. The two teams had to compete in a series of missions where they had to learn how to perfect Thai dishes from Chef Gunn so they could ultimately compete against each other to see who can sell the most in different locations around Thailand.

The Thai and Korean stars got to test not only their cooking skills but also their teamwork despite the language barrier. They got to learn about each other's cultures and languages, too! You'll even get to hear Kitty speaking in Korean and singing the popular Korean children's song "Three Bears." By the end of the show, the entire cast grew pretty close with each other that they dubbed themselves Team Purple, a combo of the two OG teams. P.S. Kitty still follows all four of her co-stars on IG (awww!).
Here's another bit of good news for those who wish to watch Food Truck Battle: All 10 episodes of the variety show are available on the show's official YouTube channel.
Here's part one of the first episode to start you off:
