So, to know more about our fave new leading lady, here are a few fast facts to know about Belle Mariano.
1. Belle Mariano was born on June 10, 2002!
Belle is turning 19 years old real soon, so here's a cute throwback to her ~quaratined~ debut last year:
2. She actually started out as a child actress.
If you think Belle looks familiar, then it means you might've seen her in the kid's sketch comedy series Goin' Bulilit! She was only nine years old when she started out in the show in 2012. Apart from Goin' Bulilit, Belle has consistently landed supporting roles in a slew of ABS-CBN shows in the succeeding years: Maalaala Mo Kaya (2013), Hawak Kamay (2014), On The Wings Of Love (2015), FPJ's Ang Probinsyano (2016), La Luna Sangre (2017), Bagani (2018), and Story Of My Life (2019).
3. Her first big movie role was in Four Sisters Before The Wedding.
Belle played Gabbie Salazar in Four Sisters Before The Wedding (2020), her biggest movie role to date! Speaking of her character, which was first portrayed by Shaina Magdayao in the original 2013 film, Belle shared in an interview that "it wasn't really hard to get into character kasi naramdaman ko talaga yung pamilya Salazar, on and off cam. Ramdam na ramdam ko yung warmth ng family."
4. Belle's real-life personality is the total opposite of her He's Into Her character.
In He's Into Her, Belle plays Max, a feisty character who's rough around the edges. But IRL, Belle is actually the total opposite! In an interview, she revealed how much of a "challenge" portraying Max was: "Ang pinaka nagusto ko yung challenge e. Since Max nga is so far from my personality. Si Max may angas, astig and ako naman girl, kikay ako na babae. Gusto kong lumalabas sa personality ko na 'yon. Gusto ko yung challenge. Ang natutunan ko dito when it comes to love, kailangan mo muna maging honest sa sarili mo and kailangan mong mahalin ang sarili mo bago ka maging capable magmahal ng ibang tao."
5. She was intimidated by He's Into Her leading man Donny Pangilinan.
He's Into Her leading man Donny Pangilinan plays Deib, the most popular guy in school who also happens to be the biggest bully. And just like real life, when Belle and Donny first met, she was totally intimidated by him! "Nung una natatakot ako lumapit sa kaniya kasi feeling ko hindi ko siya makausap," she said in an interview. But he eventually proved her wrong: "Pero sobrang opposite. Sobrang approachable niya and he's so nice. And during the shoot, like what he said to me, it takes time for him to open up din. Hindi pa kami masyado nag-uusap noon. Pero nung nagkaroon na ng lock-in [taping] tapos nung nag third lock-in dun na talaga, sobrang easy to work not just with him but with the whole cast."
Fun fact: He's Into Her is not their first project together! Belle actually made an appearance in Donny's 2020 film James And Pat And Dave.
6. She sang for the OST of He's Into Her.
Belle's not only a talented actress but a singer as well! She actually sang a song featured in He's Into Her, titled "Sigurado." "I'm really thankful because it's always been a dream of mine na magkaroon ako ng single. As in gustong-gusto ko kumanta and now, natutupad na siya," she said in an interview.
In another interview, Belle revealed that Donny "was one of the first few people who heard the song," including their co-stars. She also said her castmates were "clueless" that she was the one who sang "Sigurado" and were surprised when they find out it was her.
7. Belle was once rumored to be courted by Donny.
In February 2020, Belle was being shipped with her then-new leading man Donny after a clip of them singing a duet went viral. Speaking with Boy Abunda, Donny cleared up the rumors and said, "It's hard right now because we haven't really gotten to know each other that well. We've only been working for a couple of months and right now our focus is the show."
