After A Year And A Half, Catriona Gray *Finally* Gets To See Her Parents In Australia
A couple of days ago, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray posted an airplane snap on Insta, revealing that she was on a flight from the Philippines to Australia—her first time in over a year. In her caption, Cat shared that she hasn't seen her parents, who are based in Australia, in one and a half years because of the pandemic. She recounted the many challenges she faced just to get on her flight, and said, "After countless rescheduled flights, two flight cancelations, swab tests, stress, applications, and waiting...I'm finally on my way to see my parents for the first time in one and a half years."
"When I won Miss Universe back in 2018, I made a vow to myself to see my dad at least 4 times a year," she continued. "But since the pandemic, we've spent the majority of time apart. I know I'm not alone, as so many families face the same reality in the time of COVID."
Cat got emotional when she said it's been a fear of hers "not having enough time" with her aging father. "I don't want to one day be full of regret for not having given time to one of the most important people in my life."
She then thanked her team for allowing her the time off with her family and sent her heart out to other families in a similar situation as her.
Cat has not updated her Insta since this post, which only means that she's spending her much-needed quality time with her family! The last time she was in Australia was for Christmas in 2019, so we're hoping to see brand new Down Under snaps on her feed real soon. 'Til then, here are some sweet throwback posts of Cat's last visit to her parents:
