Gerald After Making His Relationship With Julia Public: 'Nabunutan ako ng tinik'

Everyone, especially during these trying times (we're still in a pandemic), wants peace of mind—and celebrities are no different. ABS-CBN reports that during the media launch for his new teleserye Init Sa Magdamag, Gerald talked about what changed after his controversial tell-all interview with Boy Abunda, saying: "Personally, it's just something na parang naramdaman ko na kailangan ko nang gawin for peace of mind. Nabunutan ako ng tinik."

He added: "After that, wala, tuloy lang ang buhay. Mayroong mas malalaking problema na hinaharap natin lahat kaysa yung interview ko kay Tito Boy. Personally, it's something na I had to do. Move on na."

Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto's relationship

During the interview with Tito Boy, which was aired on March 5, 2021, Gerald confirmed that he was in a relationship with Julia Barretto. Tito Boy asked him if Julia is a source of happiness for him—and his heart—and Gerald said: "Very happy, Tito Boy. It's a yes." During his talk with Tito Boy, Gerald also denied ghosting his ex-girlfriend Bea Alonzo in 2019. 

After this big reveal, Gerald and Julia often appeared publicly together: They celebrated his birthday by doing volunteer work and posted photos of each other as a couple for the first time. They also celebrated Easter with Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho. Hayden's photo of all four of them is captioned: "No gem ever got polished without friction."

Gerald Anderson's new teleserye 

Gerald's ~*steamy*~ new drama Init Sa Magdamag is about an aspiring nurse named Rita (Yam Concepcion) and a soon-to-be doctor named Tupe (Gerald) who become roommates and end up falling for each other. Things do not go well because Tupe gets involved in his father's corrupt activities and ~disappears~. Years later, Rita meets the new love of her life Peterson (JM De Guzman), but Tupe re-enters the picture!
