Kim Soo Hyun's Next K-Drama Is A Remake Of BBC's 'Criminal Justice'

This just in: Kim Soo Hyun will play the lead role in That Night, the Korean remake of the BBC drama, The Criminal Justice!

As reported by Soompi, the 32-year-old actor will play the role of Kim Hyun Soo (a little confusing, huh?), a college student who was suddenly suspected as the prime offender of a murder case. Joining him is actor Cha Seung Won, whol will take on the role of a lawyer named Shin Joong Han "who barely passed the bar exam and the only person who reaches out to help Kim Hyun Soo."

Criminal Justice is an award-winning British TV series that premiered in 2008, starring Ben Whishaw. BBC describes it as a "Thriller by Peter Moffat about the challenges and politics of the criminal justice system seen through the eyes of the accused." Interestiiing.

The upcoming Korean remake will be led by director Lee Myung Woo, who also oversaw Backstreet RookiePunch, and The Fiery Priest. It will be penned by The Royal Gambler writer, Kwon Soon Kyu. Based on reports, That Night will start filming in the first half of 2021, and will air in the second half of the year.

Earlier, Soo Hyun's label, Gold Medalist, announced that he turned down the casting offer for the Netflix thriller Finger, where he was in talks to take on the character of an interior-designer-slash-sociopath.

The actor's latest project is the well-loved Netflix series It's Okay To Not Be Okay, where he transformed into Moon Gang Tae, a caregiver at a psychiatric hospital. Before that, he made a special appearance in the top-rating dramas Crash Landing On You and Hotel Del Luna
