KINUMPIRMA ni Ian de Leon na siya ang namumuno sa Nora Aunor Enterprise at Nora Aunor Foundation, at nag-iisang legal na tagapagmana ng yumaong National Artist.
Ngunit agad na nilinaw ng aktor na hindi naman ito nangangahulugang wala nang koneksyon o ugnayan ang kanyang mga kapatid sa kanilang pamilya.
Paliwanag ng biological son ni Ate Guy, na pumanaw noong April 16, 2025, sa edad 71, kailangang may isang taong mangalaga sa naiwang legasiya ng Superstar at magbigay proteksyon sa pangalan, intelectual property at imahe nito bilang National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts.
“We had to establish structure and authority, and to put order to things for these people (fans and audiences) to genuinely still enjoy her essence, even though she’s not around,” ang pahayag ni Ian sa panayam ng “Beyond the Exchange.”
“I am, legally speaking, the sole heir of Mom, but, of course, the responsibility holds me accountable for many things, first and foremost, all the things that she has left behind, like her movies and her body of work, like in the music industry,” aniya pa.
Ayon pa sa aktor, common practice na ito sa ibang bansa kung saan ang pangalan at interes ng isang artist ay protektado at kahit na namatay na ito.
“We are pioneering this in this country. Because if you’ve noticed abroad, like Elvis Presley, or Audrey Hepburn, or even Marilyn Monroe, they have legacy management businesses where their names are protected by copyright, intellectual properties, and their names are protected by values, and it’s structured in a way where their legacy is being organized,” esplika pa ni Ian.
Marami raw kasi ang patuloy na gumagamit kay Nora Aunor para sa kanilang pansariling interes, “We have to put order and structure to that. So that’s why we came up with both entities to manage her legacy.”
Pagpapatuloy pa niya, “The enterprise would delve into creating what we called pamamahala sa mga tao, we are going to be holding museum exhibits. And underway is also a musical that we’re already working on.
“We’re also going to be doing fan conventions, merchandising, and along with that, we’re also going to be doing some concerts. Maybe some docu-series along the way anytime soon, not far from now.
“The two have a symbiotic relationship with each other. The Enterprise is for profit and the Foundation is for non-profit. Whatever revenue we make from the Enterprise will go to the outreach programs, for the social projects,” saad ni Ian.
Natanong din ang aktor kung nasaan sa senaryo ang mga adopted siblings niyang sina Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, at Kenneth de Leon.
“I respect my siblings a lot. Under the law, I hold the responsibility to do this, first and foremost. It’s not just mainly for show, it’s not mainly for fame, or just because I’m the sole heir, not to brag about.
“But, of course, I hold the responsibility to do this in their favor,” paliwanag ni Ian.
Dugtong niya, “It’s not an inclusion or family politics. My responsibility here does not exclude them or erase them from any family relationships.”
