NAGLULUKSA ngayon ang music industry sa pagpanaw ng jazz singer na si Louie Reyes kahapon, October 26, 2025.
Kinumpirma ng kanyang asawang si Cesar dela Fuente ang malungkot na balita sa comments section ng Facebook post ng OPM artist na si Ivy Violan.
“I am with you in your journey and with love and fervent prayers I have asked JESUS to give you the BEST COMFORT and heal you completely.
“JESUS is so good to you and I believe HE is with you 24/7. I love you and keep singing as you hear every beautiful note. I love you.
“The Philippine Music Industry celebrates the life of our dear Ms. LOUIE REYES. No good-byes, just the best hello to a very very dear friend and colleague,” ang buong post ni Ivy Violan.
Nag-iwan naman dito ng mensahe ang asawa ni Louie, “Today, I lost the love of my life.”
Nagbahagi rin ng mensahe ng pakikiramay sa pagpanaw ni Louie ang OPM icon na si Odette Quesada.
Una raw nagkrus ang landas nila 24 taon na ngayon ang nakalilipas sa IKEA sa Burbank, California, kung saan mainit silang tinanggap nito nang magdesisyon na siyang manirahan sa Los Angeles.
“Through the years, we saw Louie Reyes and her husband, Cesar, at every Filipino event in L.A. and grew a kinship most musicians have with each other, born of mutual respect and camaraderie,” ang pahayag ni Odette.
Sabi pa niya, nakasama pa nila si Louie sa ilang shows sa US, kung saan nagkaroon daw sila ng “long, meaningful, and thoughtful conversation about life after the show.”
“She was always so encouraging, always so gracious, always so kind. Louie Reyes, you will always be missed. My condolences to your family and friends,” ang message pa ni Odette kay Louie.
Unang nakilala at sumikat si Louie bilang miyembro ng iconic ’70s group na New Minstrels which was founded by Cesar dela Fuente, na eventually ay naging asawa nga niya.
Ilam sa mga kantang pinasikat ng New Minstrels ay ang “Kahit Na Magtiis,” “Smile,” “I Don’t Love You Anymore,” at “Buhat.”
