What You Need To Know About Netflix's Horrifying New Series, 'Hellbound'
Netflix is back with another original Korean series and we're pretty sure that it's going to be a hit! Even before its premiere, Hellbound has already been recognized as the first K-drama to be invited to the prestigious 46th Toronto International Film Festival. It was also screened at the 65th BFI London Film Festival. Impressive, huh?
Here's *everything* you need to know about Hellbound:
What's the plot of Netflix's Hellbound?
Adapted from the webtoon of the same name, this six-episode series will show how humans will view a supernatural phenomenon: Is it a miracle or a curse? In the midst of this chaos, a newly-risen religion called The New Truth has suddenly emerged. Hellbound will depict "the human-made hell created to overcome their hell-like reality," according to Soompi.
Netflix Korea has released teaser photos of Hellbound and, uhm, we're already TERRIFIED (and excited).
Who's in the cast of Netflix's Hellbound?
Baeksang award-winning actor Yoo Ah In will be leading Hellbound as Jung Jin Soo, a cult leader who believes that the supernatural phenomenon is God's signal to the sinners. You have previously seen him in the movies Burning and Alive, and the dramas Chicago Typewriter and Six Flying Dragons, to name a few.
Won Jin Ah (She Would Never Know), Kim Hyun Joo (Undercover), Park Jung Min (Entourage), and Yang Ik June (It's Okay, That's Love) are set to join Yoo Ah In in the drama.
Who's directing Netflix's Hellbound?
The suspenseful series will be helmed by Yeon Sang Ho, who also wrote the webtoon version of Hellbound along with Choi Kyu Seok. The director is the one behind the box office hits Train To Busan, Peninsula, and The Cursed: Dead Man's Prey.
When is the release of Netflix's Hellbound?
