Dennis Trillo On Engagement With Jennylyn Mercado: 'Salamat lang talaga at dumating ka ulit sa buhay ko'

Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo announced some pretty big news on national TV on October 29—after years of dating, the two Kapuso stars are set to get married!

Aired on an episode of 24 Oras in the segment "Chika Minute" hosted by Nelson Canlas, Jennylyn and Dennis confirmed the big news: "We're getting married!"

According to Dennis, the proposal was a simple one: "Gusto ko hindi naman masiyadong magarbo. Sa panahon ngayon, dapat maging praktikal. Ginawa ko yung pinaka-simple pero at the same time, heartfelt."

Jen revealed that she had no idea that a proposal was going to take place. She shared with Nelson, "Wala akong ka-ide-idea kasi dahil nga hindi ako bumababa sa bahay ng first floor, pero yung time na 'yon, sinabi sa akin ni Dennis kailangan ko bumaba dahil may i-shoo-shoot kami na parang message para sa aming future selves."

"Nagkaroon ako ng kutob nung nagsimula siyang magsalita kasi parang seryoso niya ako kinakausap tapos lumuhod tapos nagulat na ako nagbukas yung pinto," she said.

Dennis said that he chose to do the proposal at home because of Jennylyn's fragile condition. "Dito lang sa bahay dahil maraming factors na naging dahilan kung bakit dito ginawa," the actor said. "Unang-una, mahirap lumabas and sa kondisyon ni Jen ngayon, mediyo pinagdadanan, mediyo maselan."

The couple then broke the news that apart from the proposal, they're expecting a baby! Jen shared with Nelson that she's in her ninth week of pregnancy and that they found out two months ago. She said, "Sa tamang oras, sa tamang panahon, sa pagkakataon na ready ka na siguro tsaka ibibigay sa 'yo. May two boys na kami, sana ibigay sa amin baby girl."

The couple didn't announce a wedding date, but they did upload a vlog following their appearance on 24 Oras that documented *how* the proposal came about. 

It happened on October 8, and a part of Dennis' speech will make you feel ~kilig~! The actor said, "Salamat lang talaga at dumating ka ulit sa buhay ko. Hindi ko alam kung makakahanap pa ako ng pagmamahal na katulad ng binigay mo sa akin, kasi talagang sagad at ramdam na ramdam ko."

Dennis said in a voice-over, "Ang totoo niyan, iba't-ibang klaseng proposal na yung nagawa ko sa TV, sa pelikula. Pero wala paring tatalo sa magic ng eksena sa totoong buhay."
