ICYMI, K-pop idol group Super Junior D&E is celebrating their 10th(!) debut anniversary on December 16, 2021. Industry veterans Donghae and Eunhyuk have released countless songs together throughout the course of their careers. In the weeks leading up to the drop of their first full-length album, COUNTDOWN, the duo have also released individual songs and performed as soloists at music stages.

However, you'd be mistaken if you were to classify D&E as "the dance sub-unit" of Super Junior. Each D&E album has its own distinct concept and sound, and some fan-favorite tracks are actually either co-composed or co-written by Donghae, Eunhyuk, or Donghae *and* Eunhyuk! 1 Oppa + 1 Oppa = LOVE (see what I did there? *winks*)

Since title tracks receive the most promotion during comeback season, here are ten b-sides that deserve more attention (and Spotify/Apple Music plays).

Super Junior D&E: Korean non-title songs

"Don't Wake Me Up"

Co-written and co-composed by Donghae, "Don't Wake Me Up" is a unit song from Super Junior's 2015 special compilation album Devil. The upbeat mid-tempo hit is perfect for your morning alarm. The guitar strumming in the intro is quite distinct, and the title itself is a mood!

"Sweater & Jeans"

A definite scene stealer from D&E's first mini-albumThe Beat Goes On, the smooth, almost vintage R&B sound of "Sweater & Jeans" leads to an incredibly addictive chorus, and Eunhyuk's rising falsetto as he sings "Be my Marilyn, I'll be your James Dean" is definitely replay-worthy.

"RUM DEE DEE"

'Bout You's second track "Rum Dee Dee" is not as high-energy as older iconic D&E songs "Oppa Oppa" or "Can You Feel It?" but it has a strong beat and playful tempo, making the chorus incredibly fun to sing along to. Plus points for Eunhyuk's rap break in the middle!

"Victory"

Super Junior will always find a way to show their love and thankfulness towards ELFs (Everlasting Friends, the fandom name), and the D&E sub-unit is no exception. "Victory" is their heartfelt way of wrapping up the 'Bout You mini-album, and the uplifting melody truly makes you miss live concerts where you could sing along to your faves while waving your hands in the air, swaying side to side.

"GLOOMY"

Another sexy R&B track from Super Junior D&E? Sign me up. This song from their Danger mini-album reminds me of their Japanese masterpiece "Take It Slow" (mentioned below, and I highly recommend you listen to if you haven’t already!). Great vocals, a sensual beat, and that guitar instrumental, what more could you ask for in a song?

"Off Line"

"Today we are off line,
my notification is already off,
really off line..."

Now that a lot of us are working from home, it's really important to maintain that work-life balance. Take some advice from Donghae and Eunhyuk after listening to their song "Off Line" and log out from your busy routine. Don't stay up too late—there's always tomorrow!

Super Junior D&E: Japanese non-title songs

"Kimi Ga Naitara"

Thought Super Junior D&E only did dance tracks? Well, think again. In their first Japanese studio album Ride Me, the two included a *beautiful* ballad called "Kimi Ga Naitara"—and for ELFs, the world has not been the same since 2014. The back and forth alternating verses between Donghae and Eunhyuk from 2:33 to 2:56 are unquestionably the highlight of the song.

"Ten Years"

Another slow song from the Ride Me album, "Ten Years" tells the story of not wanting time to pass us by in order to stay in the present moment. The chorus is incredibly sweet, featuring the vocals of f(x)'s main vocalist, Luna (who made a surprise video appearance during the concert tour!).

[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"Jo0Y8iLsOmg", "caption":""}]

"Gift"

"Gift" is, well...a literal *gift* for the fandom. Released as part of the tracklist for their second EP Present in 2015 (the mini-album was aptly named!), the sentimental ballad speaks about being thankful for having someone in your life who knows the *real* you.

"It’s an irreplaceable gift.
Because you’re there,
I can stay just the way I am...
Thank you for the love."

"Take It Slow"

D&E's 2018 Japanese studio album Style has a lot of hidden gems like "You don't go," "Can I Stay", and "Circus," (which was inspired by The Greatest Showman, by the way!) but a fan-favorite was definitely the ~sensual~ "Take It Slow." No explanations necessary. *winks*

BONUS: "I Wanna Love You"

Speaking of "Take It Slow," it was a worthy follow up to their live performance of "I Wanna Love You" during Super Junior's Super Show 3 concert tour! Watch the 2010 original below, then compare it to the more recent STYLE tour stage. You're welcome. *winks*
