Showbiz newcomer AJ Raval recently made headlines when she confirmed that she's in the "getting to know" stage with actor Aljur Abrenica, and when she seemingly spoke up against an ex-boyfriend who posted her photos along with Olivia Rodrigo's song "Traitor." 1. AJ Raval's birthday is on September 3, 2000.
Her real name is actually Elizabeth Buensuceso and she turned 21 years old this year.
2. AJ's dad is 90s action star Jeric Raval.
In a vlog, AJ revealed that she has 17 siblings in total. AJ grew up with her dad Jeric and her stepmom Holiday Buensuceso. "Si AJ ay lumaki sa amin, three years old pa lang siya hanggang 14 years old," Jeric shared in a report by PEP. "Bago siya nag-fifteen, pumunta na siya sa kabilang pamilya, sa mother (Alyssa Alvarez) niya. Ang mga anak ko, ang tawag nila sa nanay nila, Ate Day or Dayow. Dayow ang tawag sa kanya ni AJ."
In a February interview with PEP, AJ said: "Yes, kay Deyow ako lumaki and dala-dala ko ang family name niya. To be honest, siya talaga ang alam ko na mother ko noong bata pa ako. Of course, minahal ko si Deyow. Inalagaan niya ako, minahal, tinanggap, pinalaki na maayos, at tinuruang makipag-kapwa tao." She added that she has a very good relationship with her biological mom.

According to PEP, AJ became part of the group when she was only 15 years old. AJ, who loves performing, also released a song called "Madaling Araw" with her brother Ace Raval in 2020.

AJ starred in the films Death Of A Girlfriend (2021), Taya (2021), and Nerisa (2021), and appeared in the teleserye Ang Probinsyano.
In Death Of A Girlfriend, she starred next to Diego Loyzaga. According to AJ: "Kaya kong ipagtanggol yung sarili ko. One time, sa school, mayroon akong sinapak doon na isang lalaki. Kasi transferee ako noon, bago lang ako sa school, tapos parang binabastos ako...tapos dire-diretso ako sa kuwarto. Ayon sinapak ko yung lalaki." AJ says it happened more than once.
7. Her friends call her "kuting" while her mom calls her "koala bear" because she's very malambing.
"Ganitong edad ko nga e, kasi kasama ko yung nanay ko sa bahay, tabi kami natutulog 'pag wala akong kasama," AJ said. "Palagi ako nakayakap sa kanya 'pag natutulog. Tawag sa akin nga ng nanay ko koala bear e, kasi lagi talaga ako nakayakap sa kanya."
8. In September 2021, AJ got candid about her biggest insecurity.
During the media conference for the new girl group Vivamaxx Maximum Crush, AJ shared: "Lahat naman po tayo may insecurities. Sobrang laki ng insecurity ko sa kung paano ako magsalita. Sa totoo lang, wala akong ka-class-class magsalita at gumalaw. Pero pakonti-konti, tinatanggap ko sa sarili ko, ito ako. Nagiging totoo ako sa mga tao, which is mas lalo akong minamahal ng mga tao."
9. In October, AJ Raval confirmed that Aljur Abrenica is courting her.
During an interview with PEP, AJ was asked about being romantically-linked to Aljur and she said: "Yes, totoo. Hindi ako magpapakaipokrita. 'Di na ako magsisinungaling, 'di na ako magde-deny, kasi mukha lang kaming tanga kapag nag-deny kami...Well, totoo naman na nag-uusap kami."
When AJ previously talked about a "manliligaw" who was "boyfriend material," she was referring to Aljur. "Yes, siya. Nag-uusap kami. We understand each other. We care for each other. Pero wala pa kami sa point na may relasyon kami. Parang getting to know..." Soon after this, AJ and Aljur were spotted at a mall together, holding hands while walking.
