Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to marry their childhood crush—except for Isabel Oli, lol! If you can recall, she and John Prats tied the knot in 2015 and they had the most romantic wedding vows. Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we?
Much to our delight, Isabel made several '90s movies references in hers: "To my childhood crush, my superhero Batang X, my Ang TV cutie patootie, my Dance Floor Dynamite, my best friend and my partner in life, I can't promise to complete you and make your life perfect on my own. Without the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ in our marriage, my efforts will come to nothing."
Wifey, I will cherish you and give you my heart. I will support you and care for you faithfully. Lagi akong nasa tabi mo at hawak ang kamay mo, regardless of what life will bring to us. But I promise you na lagi akong nandito para ayusin ang lahat, because I want this to be forever. I love you."
Fast forward to 2021, the two have been married for six years and are parents to three beautiful children: Feather, Freedom, and Forest. During a guesting on Magandang Buhay, they talk about what they've learned during the course of their marriage. John simply said, "Natutunan ko na hindi ko na pala kayang mabuhay na wala siya...to the point na iniisip ko, kunwari nawala siya, feeling ko 'di ako magaasawa." For Isabel, she learned "how to see good things in every bad situation" and how to forgive and work through their struggles together.
John Prats and Isabel Oli's 2021 vows
But the romance doesn't stop there. John and Isabel were asked to ~*renew*~ their vows now that they've been together for almost nine years.
John: "Sa aking reynanay, thank you for eight years and six months. Eight years and six months and forever. Thank you dahil sa lahat nang pagtitiis mo. I know all the sacrifices na ginagawa mo. Hindi ko binabali wala 'yon. Nakikita ko 'yon. I appreciate it. Alam kong masasaktan kita. Alam kong magkakasakitan tayo pero ang pina-promise ko talaga, I will do my best and my everything to fix it. Never nating option yung maggi-give up tayo. And I will love you forever."
Isabel: "I want to thank you sa eight years and six months natin...kasi mas pinapakilig mo pa rin ako. I know it sounds corny...You make me happy in your own little and weird ways. Let's pray together. Palaki nang palaki ng pamilya sana. Love you."
