Heads Up: The DFA Will Limit Passport Appointments During ECQ
Processing of passport applications will be limited from August 6 to August 20 in compliance with restrictions under Enhanced Community Quarantine, or ECQ, in the capital region, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Sunday. Only DFA Aseana in Aseana Business Park in Parañaque City will remain open during ECQ to process passport and authentication appointments.
Walk-ins are prohibited and only appointments made for DFA Aseana will be accommodated. All other DFA offices and temporary off-site passport services in Metro Manila will be temporarily closed.
What if I was scheduled from August 6 to August 20?
According to the DFA, an advisory regarding the new appointment schedule will be sent to the e-maill address indicated in the application. Those with urgent emergency and medical travel needs may send an e-mail request to oca.cl@dfa.gov.ph with copies of their current passport or government-issued IDs (for new applicants). Documentation or proof of emergency travel must also be included. A flight booked in advance will not be considered urgent, the DFA said. Passport applicants are advised not to book flights prior to obtaining valid passports.
What about document authentication appointments?
Authentication appointments scheduled on August 6 to August 20 in the following offices will be accommodated at DFA Aseana, and original time and date of appointments will be honored:
- Ali Mall Cubao
- SM Manila
- SM Megamall
- Metro Gaisano Alabang
Applicants can request for early authentication or apostille appointments by e-mailing oca.authentication@dfa.gov.ph. The e-mail must contain the documents that need to be authenticated, and current passports of valid government-issued IDs, along with proof of urgency.
