Kim Domingo Says Her Late Bestie Is Actually 'The One That Got Away'

On Tuesday, June 8, Kim Domingo posted a heartwarming video montage featuring many pics of her and her late best friend Angelo Fango. "Happy Birthday in Heaven bes," the GMA-7 actress wrote.

She then went on to reveal that Gel, as she fondly calls him, is actually her TOTGA, or The One That Got Away: "Mag best friend tayo pero pakiramdam ko ikaw yung #TOTGA ko. Happy Birthday in Heaven! Sana happy ka na, ako din happy na ulit, pero minsan hindi ko maiwasan na malungkot lalo kapag merong nangyayari na maganda sa buhay ko at naiisip ko na wala ka na. Kasi iniisip ko mas masaya siguro kung kasama pa din kita na nagce-celebrate. Gaya ng dati, inabot ko lahat ng pangarap ko na kasama ka. Sabi mo lagi mo ako binabantayan, thank you my guardian angel. I love you forever bes."

The birthday post was made even more emotional because it showed clips of Gel's funeral and with the whole video overlaid with Katy Perry's 2011 hit song, "The One That Got Away":

When Gel passed away in August 2020, Kim paid tribute to him on Facebook with photos that documented their 10-year friendship. The two apparently met in 2010 when Kim was only in high school and had been inseparable ever since. According to Kim, Gel was there even before she hit it big in showbiz and would even send her and her family food when they wouldn't have much to eat. When she finally got her big break in 2016, he stood by her side in her many milestones, like buying her first car and building her house! He even tagged along with her on her work trips around the country and they've gone on vacation together to Thailand and Macau. Kim revealed that Gel had found a "lung mass" in his body which had gotten worse in the last few years of his life. You can read Kim's loving post for her BFF below:
