6 Pinoy Celebrities Who Got Candid About Getting Cosmetic Surgery + Beauty Enhancements
We don't often hear Pinoy celebrities talk about getting plastic surgery and related beauty procedures. But over the years, there have been a few who got candid about them during press interviews and TV shows!
Below are some Pinoy celebrities who talked about getting beauty enhancements:
1. Vice Ganda
Vice Ganda has always been open about undergoing plastic surgery. In a 2020 episode of the show Gabing Gabi Na Vice, he shared that he had procedures done on his eyes, cheeks, and chin: "Hindi pa kasi ako nagpapagawa ng ilong. Ang ipinagawa ko lang ay mata. Kasi ang mata ko ay droopy, malungkot. Sabi nila hindi puwedeng nagpapatawa ka tapos malungkot ang mata. May malungkot na mata at malungkot na kilay kapag nakababa. So kailangan buka ang mata mo at ang kilay mo ay hindi pababa. So nilagyan ako ng talukap. Kasi mataba ang talukap ko, 'yon ang ginawa. Tapos sa (pisngi) botox-botox, lifting-lifting. Tapos sa baba, para may baba. Pero yung ilong hindi ko pa napapagalaw e."
Vice also revealed that he got hip enhancement surgery in 2015, saying: "Wala naman yatang maniniwala kapag sinabi kong totoo yung balakang ko, talaga naman gawa."
2. Paolo Contis
According to Inquirer, the comedian got a Smart Lipo procedure back in 2007 to "get rid of the unwanted bulges in his tummy." In the same news report, Paolo shared: "A lot of my showbiz friends really encouraged me to do it...They said the recovery period is fast. The next day daw, okay ka na that's why I'm planning to go to my taping. My friends even wanted to go and watch me lie down inside the operating room while the procedure is being done."
3. Christopher De Leon
In a 2011 report from ABS-CBN, Christopher De Leon said he had been going to Belo "for the past 16 years." Aside from being a fitness buff, the veteran actor revealed he stays youthful with the help of weekly facials and other treatments such as laser blepharoplasty, Sculptor Plus, and Ulthera.
4. John "Sweet" Lapus
During a guesting in Mo Twister's radio show Good Times, John Lapus was asked whether he had plastic surgery and he answered: "Yes. Fake chin. Liposuction. Lower lip."
5. John Estrada
In an interview with Ricky Lo in 2006, John Estrada got candid about undergoing a butt-enhancing procedure to fix his posture, saying: "It lasted for not more than 25 minutes. I'm afraid of surgery, takot ako sa karayom, so I had to be put under anesthesia. I closed my eyes and when I opened them, the 'procedure' was done. Ganoon kabilis, ganoon kadali."
6. Xander Ford
According to Inquirer, the controversial internet personality underwent different cosmetic procedures, including "a nose lift and chin augmentation, wrinkle removal, eyebrow thickening, eyelash extension, lip pigmentation, and dental implants."
In 2017, Xander (formerly known as Marlou Arizala) appeared on Rated K with his new look, saying the procedures were painful but they were worth it: "Masakit, pero kaya, kasi po ito talaga yung pangarap ko e. Ito talaga yung goal ko."
