Diego Loyzaga Shares There's *No Secret* In Making His Relationship With Barbie Imperial Work

Diego Loyzaga and Barbie Imperial made their relationship public on New Year's Day and have since been sharing snippets of their love on social media and in interviews. The two actors started out as friends (playing Call Of Duty together, fyi) and their relationship naturally turned into something romantic as they got to know each other more. In fact, Barbie was one of the few friends who would constantly check up on Diego when he went on his two-year showbiz hiatus!

They're young, in love, and seemingly perfect on the outside, but for Diego, there really is ~no secret~ to making their relationship work. In a report by PEP.ph, the 25-year-old star talked about the effort and hard work both parties should put into growing any relationship—may they be romantic or platonic. "Para sa akin kasi, yung love or being in a relationship, it's a never-ending compromise," he said. "You're two individuals who want to be a team or an item or parang a unit—isa kayo. So siyempre meron kayong mga differences. Meron kayong mga hindi pagkakasunduan. Pero marami rin kayong mga likes sa isa't-isa so there's no secret to it. It's work. It's like any relationship naman, even friendships ganoon din."

He then went on to say that they're both aligned in where this relationship will go in the long run—marriage, babies, the works: "But iba yung relationship kasi yung pupuntahan niyo eventually is marriage, have a family, have kids. So ganoon ko siya tinitingnan with Barbie, and ganoon din naman niya tinitingnan with me. We understand each other. And not every day is a good day—just like any other relationship—and we understand each other even more on bad days."

Diego then closed off the topic by saying that the best thing about Barbie isn't only her being a mix of maternal and malambing, but that "she can bring out the best in me and take care of me at the same time." Cute! Stay happy and in love, you two!
