It's Confirmed: Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid Officially End Their Nearly 6-Year 'Ship
Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have reportedly broken up. News of the split was reported by multiple outlets, with a source telling Us Weekly "Zayn and Gigi have silently separated. They’d been having problems for a while and tried to figure them out, but it just wasn’t working." The source added that "some of their issues" may have stemmed from an "irresponsible" incident in June when Zayn got into a fight outside an NYC bar, which Gigi "wasn’t happy" about.
Meanwhile, a People source also reported that "They are not together right now. They are both good parents, though. They co-parent. Yolanda is of course very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandchild."
At this point, Gigi and Zayn have not confirmed the split themselves, but this news comes amid reports from TMZ claiming that Yolanda Hadid claimed Zayn "struck" her and that she intended to escalate the matter to police. Zayn published a lengthy statement on Twitter (via the iPhone notes app, of course) seemingly acknowledging Yolanda's hefty accusations.

Later that same day, Zayn told TMZ directly, "I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private."
At the time, Gigi's rep spoke on her behalf to E! News saying that in light of the family drama, the supermodel "is solely focused on the best for Khai" and that "she asks for privacy during this time."
Us Weekly's source notes that “Gigi has been busy with her modeling career and is leaning on her mom, Yolanda, and sister Bella [Hadid] for support,” while Zayn “continues to be very much involved in Khai’s life" and "he and Gigi still care deeply for each other."
Sigh. It has been a ride.
