Whoa, LizQuen Fans Helped Raise *Half A Million Pesos* For Underprivileged Children
When fans unite, amazing things are possible. Case in point: Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil partnered with Save The Children Philippines to hold a virtual fan meet in July, and the event was able to raise more than P268,000!
Save The Children is an international organization that works with governments to ensure that underprivileged children have access to quality education and health services.
Liza took to Twitter to thank LizQuen fans, writing: "All because of you guys, I have the best fans with the best hearts."
The target for Liza's Save The Children fundraiser is P350,000, but as of this writing, the pledges have already amounted to P500,000. According to the fundraiser's official page, each donation of P800 will be able to provide hygiene and learning supplies for one family, and it aims to help 530 families in total.
Liza was named Save The Children Philippines' new ambassador in April 2021, saying in an announcement video that she had been a "silent supporter" of the organization since 2016.
Aside from being a philanthropist, Liza has talked about the importance of speaking up when it comes to societal issues, especially when it comes to violence against women and children.
