These 5 TBA Studios Films Are Coming To Netflix *Very Soon*
Production company TBA studios just announced that more of their films will be dropping on Netflix! Other TBA productions such as Heneral Luna, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, Kung Paano Siya Nawala, Birdshot, and Gasping For Air are already available on the streaming platform, but this time around, the lineup includes fan-fave I'm Drunk, I Love You. and award-winning docu Sunday Beauty Queen.
Here's a full list of the movies and their Netflix release dates:
1. Bliss (August 15)
You know that popular GIF of Iza Calzado waking up and saying "P*ta, eto na naman?" It came from Bliss! In this psychological horror film, Iza plays an actress named Jane, who is "trapped in a house filled with bizarre phenomena and under the care of her unfeeling husband and a strange nurse" after a terrible accident.
2. Sunday Beauty Queen (August 15)
This award-winning documentary follows Filipina OFWs as they participate in a pageant much like the one we saw in Hello, Love, Goodbye. According to TBA: "Beneath Hong Kong's glittering facade, Filipinas working as domestic helpers work in relative anonymity and for near slave wages. In a beauty pageant like no other in the world, five helpers give themselves makeovers for a day and gleefully reclaim their dignity."
3. Dito At Doon (September 2)
Set in the pandemic—during one of the Philippines' many lockdowns—"a political science major and a student working part-time as a delivery driver butt heads online – but soon find themselves falling for each other." (via TBA) Janine Gutierrez won the Rising Star Award at the 2021 New York Asian Film Festival for her role!
4. I'm Drunk, I Love You. (September 15)
This "I've been in love with my best friend for seven years" movie stars Maja Salvador and Paulo Avelino as BFFs Carson and Dio. They're about to graduate from college, and spontaneously decide to take a trip to La Union. The movie will have a sequel called I Love You, I Do.
5. Smaller And Smaller Circles (September 21)
This movie is based on the Palanca winner + best-selling novel by F.H. Batacan! Two Jesuit priests get involved in a murder mystery, where they hunt for a serial killer who's targeting young boys in Payatas.
