K-Dramas Airing In The Second Half Of 2021
1. Jun Ji Hyun - Mount Jiri

After the successful release of Kingdom: Ashin Of The North, Jun Ji Hyun is set to lead the mystery drama Mount Jiri. She is an experienced top ranger named Seo Yi Kang from the Jirisan National Park. The show revolves around those who are brave enough to climb the mysterious Mount Jiri, aka the largest mountain in South Korea. Fun fact: Ji Hyun will work once again with Kingdom writer Kim Eun Hee for this series!
2. Song Hye Kyo - Now, We Are Breaking Up

Song Hye Kyo is back on the small screen and this time, she will be playing a fashion label team manager in Now, We Are Breaking Up. Her character, Ha Young Eun, is someone who is focused on her work and refrains from being too emotional over men. However, things completely changed when she met the freelancer Yoon Jae Guk (Jang Ki Yong).
3. Shin Min Ah - Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha

A remake of the 2004 Korean movie Mr. Hong (led by Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim Joo Hyuk), Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is a rom-com about Mr. Hong (Kim Seon Ho), an odd job expert and the *hero* of their seashore village. Our OG gumiho Shin Min Ah will transform into the pretty and smart dentist, Yoon Hye Jin.
4. Kim Go Eun - Yumi's Cells

We're adding another webtoon-based drama to our list and that's Yumi's Cells! Kim Go Eun will play the titular role of an ordinary office worker who finds it hard to express her feelings. What's super cute about this show is that Yumi's story is told from the point of view of her brain cells! Think Inside Out, but with more ~kilig.~
5. BLACKPINK's Jisoo - Snowdrop

This is not a drill: Snowdrop is really premiering this year! JTBC just gave us a glimpse of its 2021 drama lineup and we're just happy Snowdrop is finally happening after the issue it faced. The drama is set in 1987 Seoul, and it will be BLACKPINK's Jisoo's first leading role. Here, she will portray Young Cho, a university student who fell in love with Im Soo Ho (Jung Hae In).
6. Kim Yoo Jung - Lovers Of The Red Sky

A historical fantasy drama at its core, Lovers Of The Red Sky is adapted from the novel Hong Chun Gi by Jung Eun Gwol. Kim Yoo Jung will be playing Hong Chun Gi, the first female painter during the Joseon dynasty "who was born blind but miraculously gains vision" per Soompi. She will be paired with Ahn Hyo Seop, who will take on the role of a blind astrologer.
7. Kim Da Mi - Us That Year

Kim Da Mi and Choi Woo Shik will be working together again! While they were sworn enemies in The Witch: Part 1 The Subversion, the two will play the opposite and act like a couple in the rom-com Us That Year. Da Mi will lead the drama as Gook Yeon Soo who tries to live her life fiercely despite her troubled past.
8. Kim Hye Yoon - The Secret Royal Inspector And Jo Yi

Love Kim Hye Yoon as the adorable Eun Dan Oh in Extraordinary You? Well, you're going to love her again once she shows her different side in The Secret Royal Inspector And Jo Yi! In this period drama, Hye Yoon is a divorced woman named Kim Jo Yi. When she parted ways with her estranged husband, Jo Yi finds another obstacle in life after an encounter with a secret royal inspector (Ok Taecyeon).
9. Hyeri - Thinking Of The Moon When the Flower Blooms

Fresh from her comeback drama My Roommate Is A Gumiho, Hyeri is cast in the historical drama Thinking Of The Moon When The Flower Blooms as the hardworking Kang Ro Seo. She's motivated to help her family and to pay off her debt, Ro Seo sells alcohol.
10. Kwon Nara - Bulgasal

tVN also shared their K-drama lineup for the second half of 2021 and it includes the fantasy series Bulgasal. The story tackles the life of a woman reincarnated several times in the past 600 (!) years, portrayed by Kwon Nara. A bulgasal is a mythical creature who survives by eating blood, and Nara's character used to be one.
11. Park Gyu Young - Dali & Cocky Prince

As cliche as it may sound, but opposites really attract! A fine example of that is the new rom-com series, Dali & Cocky Prince. Here, Park Gyu Young is going to be an ~elegant~ character who came from a wealthy family. Although she's book smart, Kim Dali finds it hard to take care of herself. Starring opposite Gyu Young is Kim Min Jae as the madiskarte Jin Mu Hak.
12. Jeon Do Yeon - Lost

Similar to the title, Jeon Do Yeon's character is also lost in this drama. She's a 40-something ghostwriter named Boo Jung, with a bucket full of worries as she feels like she's never done anything great. Boo Jung found comfort in Kang Rae (Ryu Jun Yeol), a guy who is also undergoing an emotional void.
13. Jo Yeo Jong - High Class
Network: JTBC

Parasite actress Jo Yeo Jong will make a transformation in High Class as lawyer Song Yeo Wool: She initially has it all but when she was framed for her husband's death, Yeo Wool's life went downhill. This K-drama is under the suspense genre and will feature the lives of the rich and famous, with a luxurious international school as its setting.
