On June 5, Jodi Sta. Maria proudly told fans that she passed her thesis defense that afternoon—and it took three whole hours, you guys! She captioned her tweet, "I want to thank everyone who prayed for me and those who sent messages of encouragement. Maraming salamat! Malapit na ang graduation!!"

In case you didn't know, Jodi pursued a BS Psychology course at the Southville International School and Colleges in Las Piñas. On January 2019, the actress posted a photo of her and her "school bff" Cheska and announced that she just enrolled for the last semester of her course (26 units in total)!

Jodi Sta. Maria passes thesis defense
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Jodi revealed that she started going back to school at 28 because she wanted to finish her last year of high school. Her first attempt at college was in 2010, "kaya lang, I wasn't able to finish because napaka-demanding ng course ko na medical biology." In 2017, Jodi enterred Southville International School and Colleges and attended classes every Tuesday for four years.
She shared, "I was really treated as a normal student. Walang special treatment." In case you're wondering, her thesis was about the effects of ear acupuncture detoxification on the anxiety level of people working in TV production. "The defense lasted for three hours, I was so nervous!"
"I never realized na meron pa lang mas stressful pa sa pagiging showbiz," she laughed. "Iba, pero iba rin naman yung fulfillment." And her hard work paid off because Jodi passed and she'll be marching on June 23!
