WATCH: You'll Want To Visit This *Cool* Comic Book-Inspired Milk Tea Shop In Quezon City

If you've seen the movie To All The Boys: Always And Forever, you'd know that it starts off with a scene at this *super cool* 2D cafe called Cafe Yeonnam-dong 239-20 in Seoul, South Korea. TBH, after watching this part, I immediately added the place to my travel bucket list. It looks so ~unique~ and IG-worthy!

But did you know that we have a couple local versions of the cafe with a similar concept? Yup, that's right. Aside from the Komiks 2D Art Cafe located in Bulacan, there's also Kurimi Milk Tea Bar in Metro Manila! Check it out.

The brand officially launched in March 2020 but it has been established since 2019. According to Richie Cuna, President & CEO of Milkin Group, "The main objective of Kurimi Milk Tea was to create a venue where people can experience not only good quality [products], but [also enjoy them] in different scenarios especially during the pandemic."

Their plan was to introduce a milk tea brand that offers something different. Unlike the Taiwanese milk tea shops we frequently visit and love to order from, Kurimi Milk Tea is actually Japanese-inspired. "The main vision was to create a *unique* milk tea, not just an ordinary milk tea—a Japanese concept, unique in taste, and unique in the ambiance," Richie explaned.

He also revealed that when they were first planning the design of the store, they envisioned a "regular Japanese look, garden look, and mono-programming 2D look." They eventually ended up with the mono-programming 2D look (aka comic look), because it was more in demand. Take a look at those details on the walls!

When you get the chance to visit any of their stores, don't miss out on their Signature Milk Tea and Cheesecake Milk Tea (prices range from P90 to P145). They also serve fruit tea, brown sugar milk tea, and more.
