Free COVID-19 Tests Offered For Those Who Went To Angel Locsin's Community Pantry

The Quezon City government on Friday called on individuals who went to actress Angel Locsin's community pantry to avail of free swab testing.

Those who are showing COVID-19 symptoms such as flu and cough after going to the pantry at Titanium Bldg., Brgy. Holy Spirit must come forward and have themselves checked, said Dr. Rolando Cruz, head of the Quezon City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit.

"Hindi natin pwedeng isantabi ang posibilidad na nagkahawahan dahil sa dami ng dumalo. Mabuti nang makasiguro na hindi natin mahawahan ang ating pamilya at mga kasama sa komunidad," Dr. Rolando said.

Residents can book an appointment online on Quezon City's website. They can also call any of the following QC Contact Tracing Hotlines: 8703-2759, 8703-4398, 0916-122-8628, 0908-639-8086, 0931-095-7737.

"We hope to be furnished with any pertinent information that could aid us in immediately identifying, testing, and isolating suspected COVID-19 cases," he said.

The crowd at Angel's community pantry last Friday got rowdy after some individuals skipped the line, causing one elderly balut vendor to die. The actress has apologized for the incident and promised to help the victim's family.

Several people online defended the actress and philanthropist, including Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr.

"No forgiveness needed; at least she tried to feed them; one was so starved and weak she couldn't feed him in time," he said in a Thursday tweet.

In a follow-up tweet, the secretary acknowledged that the actress "meant well."
