'Fan mo ako': How Maja Salvador And Heart Evangelista's Adorbs Friendship Started

For Maja Salvador, her YouTube collaboration with Heart Evangelista was a dream come true.

Maja sat down with the GMA-7 actress for a question-and-answer vlog, where they revealed the lessons they learned about love from their previous relationships.

The vlog was uploaded on Maja's YouTube channel on February 20, 2021.

In a recent interview with PEP.ph, Maja admitted that she has been a long-time fan of Heart.

She said, "Si Heart na iniidolo mo noon, 'Mga Ka-Berks!' 'Tapos biglang kasama mo, 'di ba? Alam iyan ni Heart."

Berks was an ABS-CBN teen drama show top-billed by Heart. 

To prepare for the appearance of one of the country's biggest fashionistas, Maja had a full glam team help her in what she calls the "pinakamagastos na episode" of her YouTube channel.

Maja recalled, "Siyempre, alam kong fashionista siya, so tinawag ang buong glam team. Iyon ang pinakamagastos na episode ko."

"In fairness naman doon kay Ganda, sabi niya...Nag-heads up siya, sabi niya, 'Ganda, he-heads up lang kita, baka masyado akong naka-outfit.' Tapos nag-send siya ng picture."

"Tapos sabi ko, reply ko, 'Okay lang, Ganda. May surprise ako sa iyo.' 'Tapos pagkadating niya doon, 'O ganda [rin ako].' Naka-gown ang lola niyo."

"Ganda" is their pet name for each other.

MAJA'S FRIENDSHIP WITH HEART

Maja said her friendship with Heart started way back in the mid-2000s when the latter was still a Kapamilya talent. She was able to meet Heart on the Kapamilya network's Sunday variety show ASAP.

Maja recalled, "Kasi nga, fan nga kasi ako...Alam niyo naman ako, chikadora ako ng taon. 'Pag nakita ko kayo kunyari na ano, 'Uy, fan mo ako.'"

"Iyong ganun talaga...Tapos ayun, noong nasa ASAP pa kami, chika-chika, chikadora nga ng taon."

Maja added that they were able to maintain their friendship even after Heart moved to rival network GMA-7.

She continued, "Hanggang sa kahit na hindi na kami same network, 'pag nagkikita kami, 'Uy, dear, how are you?' Very ano siya, mabait siya sa akin ever since."

Social media played a big part in how they were able to continue their friendship. Maja said they often exchange messages on Instagram. This was also how their collaboration started.

Maja said, "Through Instagram, kasi si Heart at si Bo, nagka-work na ilang beses din."

Bo is the nickname of Maja's boyfriend Rambo Nuñez.

She continued, "So isa si Heart sa mga natuwa noong nagkabalikan kami ni Rambo."

"And nag-show ako, pumunta ako ng Sorsogon two years ago...tapos nagkita rin kami doon...

"Hanggang sa ayun, napag-usapan na namin mag-collab. Ayun, mabilis naman siyang sumagot ng, 'Yes naman, dear!'"

Aside from having Heart on her vlog, Maja also wishes to work with Heart on a project "na parang Emily In Paris."

Emily In Paris is a Netflix Original series that stars Lily Collins.
