Andi Eigenmann Appeals To Siargao Tourists: 'Tao lang din kami kagaya niyo'

Andi Eigenmann may have officially retired from showbiz back in 2017, but there's no doubt that the mother of three's star power is still there despite her now low-key way of living. The former actress, who is now active on Youtube with her husband Philmar Alipayo, is particularly popular to those who look up to her simple island life in Siargao which she now considers as her home.

Andi recently became the buzz at a local travel page for Siargao when a tourist shared his experience of being turned down by the actress twice when he requested for a picture. While the poster made it clear that he did not post it to discredit Andi, he also asked for the opinions of everyone who might have had the same experience as him.

"We just want to know if the humble Andi on social media is the same as Andi in real life because I and my guests experienced that we wanted to take a picture with her twice but she didn't allow us... We don't want to judge her. We just want to know what your experience was when you tried to take a picture with her."

Andi finally addressed the issue by sharing a screenshot of the post on her Instagram account together with videos where she explained her side.

"The last thing I want is for you guys to misinterpret it or think that it means I don't appreciate all of your support. We love knowing and I find it amazing that there are a lot of you that think that a life out here is something to admire, or something to achieve for yourselves."

However, she also clarified that the reason why she moved to Siargao remains the same. And while she tries her best to accommodate requests from her fans, there are simply moments when she had to prioritize other responsibilities.

"There are a lot of reasons why I moved here on the island, one of that is the peace and simplicity, and being able to enjoy this paradise for what it is."

"Marami rin kaming responsibilities na kailangang gawin, especially we have three kids."

She continued with humor: "Parang ang daya naman kung sabihin niyo sa 'kin, 'Kung ayaw mong magpa-picture, 'wag kang lumabas. Pa'no ako hindi lalabas?"

Andi also shared that apparently, some tourists also barge into their home without her family's permission.

"We also know that the island is small and it's so easy to look for our house. Naiintindihan namin na maraming pumapasok sa bahay namin kasi wala pa kaming gate. 'Di ba, pag nasa bahay kayo, it's a place of rest and just a private property?"

"So I hope you guys don't get offended when we get shocked when you go inside, or ask us for pictures while we are having lunch, or we have just woken up."

She ended the video on a good note though, thanking the people who continue to support her while still humbly asking to respect their privacy.

"I really, really hope you guys respect our privacy and realize that we're also humans and we need to feel that [when we are home] we are safe and that it is a place that we can enjoy being with each other and family."
