10 Must-Watch Dramas And Movies Starring Park Jinyoung

As an accomplished singer-songwriter, Park Jinyoung is globally known as one-seventh of K-pop greats GOT7. But he's also a rising actor who's been consistently honing his craft even before he debuted in GOT7 in 2014! Yup, that means Jinyoung has been juggling being a world-famous K-pop idol and a Hallyu actor this whole time. No biggie! This year, Jinyoung is set to star in a slew of upcoming dramas and films, which is making us super-excited for all the new Jinyoung content.

1. Yumi's Cells (Coming soon)

The plot: Starring Kim Go Eun as the titular character, Yumi's Cells tells the story of an ordinary office worker named Yumi, who isn't the best at expressing her thoughts and feelings. Here comes the plot twist: The drama is told from the point of view of Yumi's ~brain cells~ (hence the title!) and they help her control her thoughts, feelings, and actions! Jinyoung was offered the role of Yoo Babi, Yumi's second boyfriend. 

2. The Devil Judge (Coming soon)

The plot: The Devil Judge is a law and courtroom drama that Jinyoung is currently filming. Veteran actor Ji Sung will be playing "the devil judge" Kang Yo Han, a ruthless "head trial judge who wears legal robes in order to hunt down villains." Jinyoung's role is that of an orphaned associate trial judge, Kim Ga On, "who shines as the one ray of hope in a dystopian world."

3. The Angel Without, The Devil Within (Coming soon)

The plot: This upcoming spy and action film's Korean title is Yacha, which is based on the yaksha (nature spirits) of Hindu mythology. A group of spies (or yaksha) team up as a special force in Shenyang, China. Jinyoung plays the youngest and newest member of the Black Team, aka the most elite team of NIS Shenyang International Division.

4. When My Love Blooms (2020)

Where to watch it: Netflix, Viu

The plot: When My Love Blooms is a drama that starts out as a college romance between Han Jae Hyun and Yoon Ji Soo and is set in the 1990s. They eventually part ways but reunite decades later in present-day Seoul. Jinyoung plays the younger Han Jae Hyun, a college student who's involved in their school's political movement.

5. He Is Psychometric (2019)

Where to watch it: Netflix, Viu

The plot: In He Is Psychometric, Jinyoung is Lee An, a high school kid with the ~psychometric~ ability to see a person's memory just by touching them. With his unique ability, he teams up with the police to help them solve cases. Thing is, he gets tangled up in one particular case that has something to do with his tragic past.

6. Magic School (2017)

The plot: Magic School is a web drama about a group of men in their 20s who…enter a magic school! Jinyoung plays university student Na Ra, who doesn't know what he's passionate about in life and learns magic in the hopes that it'll help him figure things out. Magic School also stars another idol-slash-actor, 2PM's Nichkhun.

7. A Stray Goat (2016)

The plot: A Stray Goat serves as Jinyoung's debut on the big screen! In the film, he plays big-city kid Min Sik who moves to a rural village in Gyeongsang Province. A Stray Goat focuses on Min Sik's friendship with his female classmate who's a victim of school bullying.

8. Legend Of The Blue Sea (2016)

Where to watch it: Netflix, Viu

The plot: Legend Of The Blue Sea stars Jun Ji Hyun as a mermaid named Shim Cheong who crosses paths with Heo Joon Jae (Lee Min Ho), a conman, in a luxury resort. Thing is, he doesn't know she's a mermaid just yet! The fantasy drama also reveals that these two are actually reincarnations of their Joseon era counterparts. Jinyoung actually plays the younger version of Lee Min Ho's character!

9. Dream Knight (2015)

The plot: Starring all seven members of GOT7, Dream Knight is a lighthearted fantasy romance drama that tells the story of a girl named Joo In Hyung. After her mom's death, a group of mysterious yet super handsome men enter her life.

10. Dream High 2 (2012)

Where to watch it: Netflix

The plot: Dream High 2 is the sophomore season of 2011's hit teen drama Dream High. In Season 2, the famed Kirin Art School goes bankrupt and is taken over by an entertainment agency. Kirin's students are then transferred to a new school where, you guessed it, they end up clashing with the current students. GOT7's JB and then-newbie actor Park Seo Joon lead the cast.
