SINARIWA ng American doctor at content creator na si Mikhail “Doc Mike” Varshavski ang pagde-date nila noon ni Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
Naungkat ang past nina Doc Mike at Pia nang mapag-usapan ang mga karanasan ng tinaguriang People magazine’s “Sexiest Doctor Alive” sa kultura ng Pilipinas.
Sa panayan ni Doc Mike kay Filipino-Canadian nurse at top content creator na si John dela Cruz, o mas kilala bilang si Nurse John, para sa kanyang YouTube channel, napag-usapan nga si Pia.
Ito’y habang dini-discuss nila ang ilan sa mga natutunan niyang ugali at personality ng mga Pinoy, kabilang na ang pagbibigay suporta sa isa’t isa kahit nasa ibang bansa.
“It’s interesting that unlike what happened in some culture, there might be jealousy when someone succeeds, or hatred. It’s the opposite, almost feels like everyone is succeeding when that person succeeds,” ani Doc Mike.
Um-agree naman sa kanya si Nurse John, “Absolutely, but there is also pressure that they put on us with being Filipino, which is the pressure of like, ‘you better do good.’
“It’s almost like the Asian parent mindset of ‘Don’t f*ck it up.’ And that pressure is so high that if we do something wrong, they can also scrutinize us,” aniya pa.

Ibinigay pang example ni Nurse John ang mga nangyayari sa mga beauty pageant na kahit paano’y naka-relate rin daw si Doc Mike.
Sey ng nurse, grabe rin ang pressure sa mga successful Filipino artists and personalities sa ibang bansa, na palagi ring hinahanapan ng sablay at mali.
“I don’t know if you know what Miss Universe is,” sey ni Nurse John kay Doctor Mike.
“Unfortunately, I’m very well-versed. You probably don’t know but I should share some of my history. I dated Pia Wurtzbach at the peak of her career,” ang sagot sa kanya ni Doc Mike.
Dito nga sinabi ni Nurse John na ang mga beauty pageant contestants, lalo na sa Miss Universe, ay talagang kinikilatis at hinuhusgahan “at every stage.”
Reaksyon ni Doc Mike, “Very toxic.”
“It’s almost to the fact that you are almost canceling this person who is trying her best to represent our country because she is not doing what you think, or expect her to do in that pageantry. Which to me is crazy,” ani Nurse John.
Nabanggit din ni Nurse John si Vanessa Hudgens, Philippines global tourism ambassador noong 2023, na umani rin ng pamba-bash sa ilang Pinoy.
“So really, it’s the balancing of being supporting and also being negative. So it’s really hard,” sey pa ni Nurse John.
