Apart from acting in the new show, entitled "Happy Together," John Lloyd will also be creative director and part of the production team. While he has yet to share more details about the project, he did share his happiness about his new partnership with GMA.

"Hindi namin alam kung paano matutupad ang vision namin para sa programang ito," he said. "Napakalaking gift na nakahanap kami ng tahanan sa GMA."

He is also open to the possibility of collaborating with GMA-7 for other projects.

"I have so much to look forward to and am looking forward to a series of pitches from the creative minds of GMA," he shared. "Ang daming puwedeng magawa and I can't wait to hear them all,” he said.

In a video message, John Lloyd's former love team partner, Bea Alonzowho made the move to GMA-7 this year—welcomed him to the network.

"Hi Idan, ito na naman tayo, magkasama na naman tayo," Bea said. "Mukhang totoo yata yung sinabi nila na magkadugtong yung bituka nating dalawa."

"I cannot wait for everyone to see and experience the greatness of a John Lloyd Cruz just like I did through the years."

"You know that I will forever be your biggest fan and congratulations [on] your new show and I will see you very, very soon."

After a four-year hiatus, John Lloyd marked his TV comeback on GMA-7 through an appearance on the 6-6 Shoppee Mega Fiesta TV special in June. After his stint on the TV special, he even had a meeting with Annette Gozon-Valdes. In the same month, rumors circulated that Willie Revillame is producing a sitcom for GMA, reportedly starring John Lloyd and a certain "A.T.," whom netizens guessed was Andrea Torres.
