EXO's Xiumin Tests Positive For COVID-19
Oh no! Xiumin of EXO has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Soompi, EXO's label SM Entertainment released a statement about the matter on August 5, Thursday. The statement confirmed that Xiumin was initially tested on July 29 to take part in a rehearsal for the musical Hadestown. After developing systems, he was re-tested on August 4 and the result came out positive.

"Xiumin was confirmed to be diagnosed with COVID-19 today (August 5)."
"On July 29, Xiumin received a COVID-19 PCR test in order to practice for his musical and tested negative. However, he received an additional PCR test on August 4 due to symptoms of changes in his health, and he was diagnosed today (August 5)."
The rest of EXO have similarly been tested for COVID-19 and are now in self-isolation while they wait for the results. SM Entertainment has also reached out to inform the programs Xiumin is part of, as well as the staff and cast members of Hadestown.
"Xiumin has immediately halted all scheduled activities and will actively follow the process and guidance given by health authorities, and we will also do our best in order for the artist to make a speedy recovery," continued SM Entertainment's statement.
"We apologize for causing concern to many people, and we will do our best for the health and safety of all our artists and staff while strictly following health guidelines."

EXO's current active members include D.O., Kai, Lay, Sehun, and Xiumin. Members Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Chen, and Suho, meanwhile, are doing military service.
The K-pop group made its highly anticipated comeback in June 2021 with the five-track special album Don't Stop The Feeling. This is EXO's first comeback since Obsession, released in November 2019.
