Aljur Abrenica Speaks Up After His Spit With Kylie Padilla: 'For everyone's sake, I will always choose to be happy'

Aljur Abrenica has spoken up following his split with Kylie Padilla.

"When it comes to my personal life, it has always been a choice to be happy or not," he said in a virtual group interview for his upcoming movie Nerisa, which streams on Vivamax on July 30.

"So for everyone’s sake—my kids, myself—I will always choose to be happy because if I’m not okay, everything else won’t be."

On July 8, Kylie announced that she and Aljur had gone their separate ways. In her statement, she confirmed that she and Aljur are working on a "healthy co-parenting relationship" for their two boys, Alas Joaquin and Axl Romeo. 

"Every family goes through a lot of challenges and sometimes we think that it is only the couple that goes through the ordeal."

In an interview with Ogie Diaz uploaded on July 7, Kylie's dad Robin Padilla confirmed that she and Aljur had indeed split and that a third party had been involved. He mentioned that the two were on good terms. Robin added that he hopes Kylie and Aljur can patch things up for the sake of their kids.

Netizens speculated that Aljur's Nerisa co-star Cindy Miranda was the third party referred to, something the actress has denied. Kylie has also shut down rumors that she's dating JM De Guzman.

Aljur and Kylie were married on December 11, 2018.
