Super-Disturbing Netflix Documentary 'Tell Me Who I Am' ~Kept Me Up All Night~
Looking for a Netflix Party-worthy movie for your next online barkada bonding? I recently streamed Tell Me Who I Am with my friends and there were gasps, "oh sh*t" reactions, and maaany debates between us during—and after—watching the documentary. An added bonus: unlike Netflix's other true-crime offerings, Tell Me Who I Am is actually only an hour and a half long.
What is Tell Me Who I Am about?
In the documentary, we are introduced to identical twins Alex and Marcus Lewis. At 18 years old, Alex wakes up from a coma after a motorcycle accident and HE HAS FORGOTTEN EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE, except his brother Marcus. As Alex tries to adjust to his new life and basically ~relearn~ everything, he trusts Marcus to guide him and tell him about his life. However, "the idyllic childhood Marcus paints for his twin conceals a dark family secret." (Via Netflix)
Why you should watch it, sans spoilers:
Basically, the movie will make you want to take care of Alex and Marcus and just shield them from the evils of the world. Aside from the *big reveal*, when Alex and Marcus finally clear the air and confront each other, their interviews are just sooo raw and emotional. There are times when the twin brothers are even talking directly to the audience, which makes it even more intense.

According to the director, he got to know the brothers for three years before filming the documentary. Speaking about their story in an interview, Marcus said that they "want it to be a conversation that's not taboo." According to additional reports about the twins' story, after their biological father died, their mother actually "left Alex and Marcus at a children's home for a year before being shamed by her relatives into taking them back."
