Here's What You Should Know About The New Sailor Moon Movie:
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie (It's a fun title to say!) is based on the Dream Arc storyline of the OG manga series. It is set in April, right as Tokyo celebrates the largest Total Solar Eclipse of the century. Usagi and Chibi-Usa encounter a creature called Pegasus, who is in search of the chosen Maiden who can break the seal of the Golden Crystal, right as the eclipse takes place. As for the bad guys, there's an entire troupe called the Dead Moon Circus that traipes into town. Their plan is to scatter "Lemures" (Read: nightmare incarnations), seize the Legendary Silver Crystal, and take over the universe.
The movie will revolve around the group's growth, both as human beings (and teen ones at that) as well as Sailor Guardians. Netflix even hinted at a first love bit for Chibi-Usa and Helios.
"Like so many others around the world, I trace my love for anime back to watching Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon when I was a toddler—pictures of me in Usagi's Bun Head have become a family treasure," shared Ema Hirayama, a manager of content acquisition at the entertainment company. We're sure you guys can relate so mark your calendars!
