10 K-Dramas To Watch On Netflix If You're Not Into Love Stories
Without a doubt, K-dramas have *really* taken over our lives—from our moms caving in to watch a series since ~they have nothing else to watch~ to seeing them finishing all the Park Seo Joon shows that are available on Netflix. It’s more fun now because our families finally understand our *obsession* and it also allows us to bond with them.
What’s even more surprising is how slowly K-dramas have also taken over the shows that our appas (dads) watch. I was so shooked when my dad asked me for my K-drama recommendations and I was like, "Is he for real???" And well, knowing them, we know they’re not that into love stories so we all pick a genre that will suit their taste.
If you're looking for non-romantic K-dramas that you can watch with your dad and the entire family, here are some of our recommendations on Netflix:
1. Vincenzo (2021)
Who's in it: Song Joong Ki, Jeon Yeo Bin, Ok Taecyeon, Kwak Dong Yeon
They always say that it’s the sweetest faces that are the deadliest and this rings true in this drama. Our baby-faced Song Joong Ki will literally kill just not just to get his hands on the gold he kept in South Korea but also to fight for justice. Watch Vincenzo if you want to laugh, cry, and be shocked with the non-stop plot twists as he mixes his Italian Mafia upbringing into solving his problems in SoKor.

2. Sweet Home (2020)
Who's in it: Song Kang, Lee Do Hyun, Lee Si Young, Lee Jin Uk
We have all seen a lot of zombie movies and shows but Sweet Home begs to differ. The monsters here are the types of creatures that the internet can't answer. Adapted from the famous manhwa (webtoon) of the same name, watch Song Kang and Lee Do Hyun in this thriller as they try to save their whole apartment from the unknown monsters.

3. Itaewon Class (2020)
Who’s in it: Park Seo Joon, Kim Da Mi, Kwon Nara, Ahn Bo Hyun, Yoo Jae Myung
Yes, it’s Park Seo Joon! However, it’s not the Park Seo Joon we know who's a lovestruck man that will make us swoon. In this drama, he shows the struggles of starting a business and competing against a big conglomerate. This is a show you’d definitely love whether you watch it with your dad or if you’re just missing him, as this drama talks about the strength of one’s relationship with their father. It's all about reaching for your goals…with just a tad bit of revenge.

4. Kingdom (2019)
Who’s in it: Ju Ji Hoon, Bae Doona, Kim Sung Kyu
If you're familiar with all the current zombie dramas and how characters fight them in the 21st century, this sries is totally different as it's set in ancient times. Kingdom has already released two seasons and before the third one arrives soon, it's time for you to binge-watch it.
P.S.: We all know Ju Ji Hoon from Princess Hours as the prince who made our hearts beat so fast—in Kingdom, he's still part of royalty but it's not as kilig as the Koreanovela.

5. Vagabond (2019)
Who’s in it: Bae Suzy, Lee Seung Gi
Are you into action dramas? Then Vagabond is just right for you. Actor Lee Seung Gi shows a different kind of acting here and as usual, it's commendable: His character initially investigates how a fatal plane crash may actually have been sabotaged. Later in the show, you will see how the investigation uncovers crazier things beyond just that.

6. Extracurricular (2020)
Who’s in it: Kim Dong Hee, Park Ju Hyun, Jung Da Bin, Nam Yoon Su
For some, Kim Dong Hee and his amazing portrayal in Itaewon Class is the reason why they watched Extracurricular. But in this drama, you will see a different side of him as he takes on the role of a high school student who struggles not just academically but also financially. Get ready for extreme scenes from the crime-filled illegal hustles of the students who all just want to ensure their future.

8. Start-Up (2020)
Who’s in it: Bae Suzy, Nam Joo Hyuk, Kim Seon Ho, Kang Han Na
Your timelines have probably been filled with #TeamGoodboy vs. #TeamDoSan back in 2020 which might have led you to think that Start-Up is a drama about a woman choosing between two guys....which is kinda true. But it also goes beyond that. It’s a beautiful story of a woman, her relationship with her grandma, and her journey in achieving her lifelong dreams. Watch this series and see if she reaches her goals, and be inspired to pursue yours, too!

9. The Uncanny Counter (2020)
Who's in it: Jo Byeong Gyu, Kim Sejeong, Yeom Hye Ran, and Yoo Joon Sang
Another series that's adapted from a webtoon is the Uncanny Counter. The drama begins with a kid who has difficulty fitting in at school but is actually destined to be a hero. What makes the drama so interesting is how the group of four demon hunters are the most unconventional superheroes, hiding in a simple noodle place in the city. Later on, these heroes end up serving epic battle scenes. It’s definitely a drama that you shouldn't miss with its great plot and amazing cast!

10. Hotel Del Luna (2019)
Who’s in it: IU, Yeo Jin Goo, Lee Do Hyun
Once again, IU has won the hearts of everyone and my dad and brother are not exempted from that. Hotel Del Luna is a drama that revolves around a hotel that houses souls before they move on to the afterlife. Each episode talks about resolving unfinished businesses of the departed and it's a fantasy series that will change your perception about ghosts. This show is a great mix of romance, melodrama, healing, and thrill, and you will enjoy every single ep, promise!
