OMO! Song Hye Kyo Will Star In A New K-Drama By 'Descendants Of The Sun' Writer, Kim Eun Sook

Heads up, K-drama fans: It's just been announced that Song Hye Kyo will play the lead role in a new series written by Kim Eun Sook this year! And in case you didn't know, Kim Eun Sook also wrote Descendants Of The Sunthe 2016 hit drama she appeared in!

The news has been confirmed by Studio Dragon and Hwa&Dam Pictures, who will produce the upcoming show. According to reports, the two production companies are currently looking for other cast members that will join the Hallyu queen. The report also revealed the drama's filming schedule: "It will air at the end of the year at the earliest or the first half of next year at the latest."

While there's no news yet on what the K-drama's title will be, it is said that director Ahn Gil Ho, who oversaw Memories Of The Alhambra and Record Of Youth, will direct the new series. 

We last saw Hye Kyo in the 2018 drama, Encounter, with Park Bo Gum as her leading man. So you can bet that we're *super* excited to see her again on-screen! Her upcoming series is also our much-awaited reunion with writer Kim Eun Sook, who also penned other iconic dramas like Lovers In Paris, Secret Garden, Goblin, and The King: Eternal Monarch.
