Glaiza De Castro Shares Sweet Details About Her Christmas Eve Engagement To Her Irish BF

Yup, the holiday cheer is still in the air because another celeb just got engaged: Glaiza de Castro! While on vacation in Ireland, Glaiza's Irish boyfriend David Rainey popped the question "in freezing cold weather" on December 24, Christmas Eve. Glaiza posted snippets of their engagement on Instagram on December 26:

On GMA-7's 24 Oras last night, December 28, the actress-musician shared some sweet details about David's proposal. According to PEP.ph, David proposed right after breakfast on Christmas Eve and played the song that ~brought them together~ when they met in Siargao a few years ago.

"After naming kumain ng konti, lumipat kami ng area kung saan mas sheltered, medyo hindi ganun kalamig," Glaiza said. "Nagpatugtog siya, ito yung song na kung saan, kung paano kami nagkakilala. Ito yung song na tinanong ko sa Siargao kung sinong nagpapatugtog. And then, finally sinabi niya na, 'Can I ask you something?' ganyan. Tapos ayun, nag-hit sa akin na, ‘'Oh, my gosh, ito na 'yon!' Tapos, naiyak na ako. Tapos lumuhod na siya, ayun, tinanong na niya ako."

She also said that David asked for Glaiza's parents' ~blessing~ even before she flew to Ireland. As for David's parents, the couple broke the good news to them that morning. "Before pa ako pumunta dito, humingi na siya ng blessing. Tumawag siya sa nanay at tatay ko. Sinet niya yung date, tapos nagbihis siya sa video call. Tinanong kung alam ba ng parents niya, sabi niya, 'Hindi.' So, sinurprise niya yung parents niya, and then sinabi niya na pumunta dun sa restaurant," Glaiza shared.

Glaiza and David have been in a long-distance relationship for two years. Glaiza said that they will have a simple and low-key wedding after 2021: "We're still taking our time, hindi naman kami masyadong nagmamadali."
